If you’re a fan of modern décor trends, you’ve certainly heard of industrial-inspired décor. This chic style features minimalist designs, exposed details and simple materials like wood, brick and metal. Many people in the Clearwater, Seminole & Largo,St. Petersburg area enjoy this on-trend look, but how do you achieve it in your own home? At Floor Coverings International® of Largo, we always say that one of the best ways to transform your home is with new flooring. Here are a few of our favorite tips for turning your home into an on-trend industrial space:

  1. Cement Floors

This affordable flooring is full of industrial charm. More and more homeowners are choosing to try cement floors in their home. It’s affordable, low-maintenance and chic. If you want something a little more interesting than the classic gray look, you can have it! You might be surprised to hear that you can choose cement in a wide range of colors. You can also choose between different finishes including matte, low-gloss and high-gloss. The possibilities are quite varied. If you’re worried about the floors being hard or cold, feel free to invest in a few area rugs to warm things up a bit.

  1. Exposed Brick & Stone Tile

This industrial style piece doesn’t only have to be on your floor. Often, brick walls are a great way to make a space feel more industrial. If you already have this somewhere in your home, be sure to make it a focal point! If not, you can always have brick floors installed. These can be a bit of a handful to maintain, so if you’re not totally set on this style we recommend trying a simple ceramic or slate tile floor as an alternative. Stick with a simple color like gray or white.

  1. Distressed Hardwood

You might associate this look more with rustic décor, but distressed hardwood can easily fit into an industrial-inspired home. One of the best benefits of distressed hardwood is that it easily hides small imperfections. Plus, the distressed look plays up the natural beauty of your wood floors.
